Mailbox refunds
In most cases, mailbox refund is used in remote areas. The tax refund company places mailboxes to collect tax refund forms and then receives them by post.
The following steps illustrate the work flow for a mailbox refund:
- The customer receives a tax refund form after making a purchase. The customer should input the necessary information on the form, such as passport data, phone number, and shopping information.
- The customer must place the completed form in the mailbox.
- The tax refund company receives the forms via post mail and manually inputs the information into the system.
- The tax refund company sends all the data to Alipay by real-time API.
- Alipay receives and processes the request, and refunds the money to the Alipay user.
- Alipay provides the bill files for the tax refund company, and the tax refund company should remit the funds to Alipay within the agreed period and upload the remit file on the SFTP server.
